Job summary

Attentive Science is seeking a dependable, hands-on Part-Time Animal Care Laboratory Technician to join the team. The ideal candidate will provide humane care for multiple animal species, perform routine feeding, cleaning, restraint, and data collection.

Prior research experience is not required, only reliability and willingness to learn. The role is part-time, up to 25 hours per week (Sun–Tue with some flexibility), with opportunities to contribute to SOPs and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Ability to work under time constraints to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Humane care and treatment of all species in the care unit.
• Provide routine care: feeding, watering, cage and room cleaning.
• Provide restraint and handling and perform species identification and randomization.
• Collect study data such as observations, food and water consumption, body weight.
• Maintain support areas and supplies for laboratory resources.
• Provide facilities sanitation and maintenance.
• Maintain records in compliance with SOPs, USDA, FDA, AAALAC guidelines.
• Keep study areas clean, stocked, and ready for use.
• Assist with lab techniques such as oral and IV administrations.
• May participate or assist in studies as needed.
• Assist the clinical veterinarian in physical examinations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
