Heartland Security Insurance Group is seeking an Accounting Intern for Spring 2027 in Tyler, TX. The role supports accounting and administrative activities, including bank reconciliations, posting checks, and maintaining GL records.

The position prefers applicants pursuing an accounting degree with coursework in Intermediate I & II. Ideal candidates are detail oriented, able to manage multiple tasks, and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree plan pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• A minimum of 9 hours of basic and intermediate accounting, with completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts as assigned.
• Post, print, obtain signatures on checks as assigned.
• Maintain accurate image records of all items posted to the General Ledger.
• Scan and e-file documents as necessary.
• Verify scanned documents for completeness.
• Take items to the bank or CPA office as needed.
• Assist or perform any other tasks assigned as needed.
