Job summary

Heartland Security Insurance Group (HSIG) is seeking an Accounting Intern to assist in all areas of accounting, including reconciliations, document management, and general ledger support. This internship provides hands-on experience across finance functions within a diversified insurance holding company.

You'll work with Windows Office (Excel/Word), develop attention to detail and time management skills, and support staff with ad hoc tasks while pursuing a Bachelor’s in accounting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree plan pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 9 hours of accounting including Intermediate I & II.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts as assigned.
• Post, print, obtain signatures on checks as assigned.
• Maintain accurate image records of items posted to the General Ledger.
• Scan and e-file documents as necessary.
• Verify scanned documents for completeness.
• Take items to the bank or CPA office as needed.
• Assist or perform any other tasks assigned as needed.
