Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Hand and Upper Extremity Rehab Program. You will assess and treat hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder conditions, collaborating with surgeons and a multidisciplinary team. Excellent outcomes rely on evidence-based practice and patient education.

The role emphasizes postoperative rehabilitation, orthosis fabrication, and continued professional growth within a busy orthopedics setting. Day shift with a 40-hour work week in Fargo, ND.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as Occupational Therapist in the state of practice.
• NBCOT certification is preferred but not required.
• Two or more years of hand therapy/upper extremity experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans for hand and upper extremity rehab.
• Provide therapy including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, scar/edema management, tendon/nerve rehab, and custom orthosis fabrication.
• Collaborate with hand and upper extremity surgeons, APPs, and other rehab professionals for coordinated care.
• Monitor progress, adjust plans, and educate patients and families on recovery and home programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to program development and quality improvement.
• Supervise therapy assistants, aides, and students as appropriate.
