Job summary

Sanford Health in the upper Midwest is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess clients and design therapy treatments across post-acute and long-term care settings. You will evaluate physical, cognitive and psychosocial abilities, develop realistic goals, and administer targeted therapy programs to help patients regain independence.

You will document assessments, adjust plans as needed, and provide education to patients and families to enhance understanding and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification preferred for some Sanford Health facilities.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Maintains required department competencies and certifications.
• BLS for healthcare providers required or within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assesses clients, designs occupational therapy treatments.
• Helps clients develop, maintain and recover daily living activities.
• Conducts evaluations and provides interventions for functional, cognitive or behavioral impairments.
• Document client information, establish and modify therapy plans as needed.
• Educates clients to enhance understanding and functional outcomes.
• Demonstrates adherence to clinical practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• May supervise assistants and students and provide ongoing education to peers.
