Milwaukee Tool seeks a Design Engineer II to contribute to the design, development, and support of hand tool products within a dynamic NPD team. You will design solutions that meet end-user needs, perform analyses, and help validate products through testing and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required.
• 2+ years of design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD systems: Creo, SolidWorks, NX or similar.
• Experience applying engineering analysis tools to support mechanical design.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with materials, properties, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across functions.
• Willingness to learn skills outside primary areas of expertise.
• High interest in end-user applications and job-site needs.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% (domestic and international).

Responsabilités

• Work with cross-functional teams to design, validate, and launch Hand Tool NPD projects.
• Develop product designs and engineering solutions that meet end-user needs and project objectives.
• Develop component and product specifications aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
• Evaluate designs for materials, methods, reliability, quality, and cost.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses (mechanical stress, mechanism design, durability, ergonomics).
• Develop and analyze testing programs to support design decisions and product validation.
• Communicate test results and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing and suppliers in troubleshooting and design improvements.
• Conduct competitive evaluations, investigations, and root-cause analyses for product improvements.
