Luxe Rehab Physical Therapy in Leesburg, Virginia seeks a Hand Therapy Specialist (PT or OT) to join our founding team full-time. You will treat hand, wrist, elbow and upper-extremity conditions with evidence-based, patient-centered care in a specialized outpatient setting, collaborating with orthopedic and hand surgeons.

Candidates with the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential or eligibility are highly preferred.

Qualifications

• DPT or OT degree required.
• Active Virginia license or eligibility for licensure.
• CHT credential preferred or eligible with clinical hours.
• 2–3 years of upper extremity or orthopedic experience.
• Strong knowledge of post-surgical protocols and hand therapy techniques.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of upper extremity conditions (hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder).
• Develop and implement advanced, individualized treatment plans.
• Provide specialized interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular re-education.
• Design and fabricate custom orthoses and splints.
• Manage post-operative rehabilitation protocols in collaboration with referring surgeons.
• Treat tendon and nerve injuries, fractures and post-surgical cases, carpal tunnel and repetitive strain injuries, and arthritis.
• Monitor patient progress and modify care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, and home programs.
• Maintain precise, compliant clinical documentation and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hand Therapy Specialist (Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist) to join our founding team full-time in Leesburg, Virginia. This role is ideal for a clinician with advanced expertise in treating conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity — delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care that optimizes functional outcomes following injury, surgery, or chronic conditions. You'll practice in a specialized outpatient setting within the Loudoun Medical Group network, collaborating directly with orthopedic and hand surgeons in a personalized care model. Candidates with, or working toward, the Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential are highly preferred.

Requirements

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or accredited Occupational Therapy degree
• Active Virginia PT or OT license (or eligibility for licensure)
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred — or eligibility with required clinical hours
• Minimum 2–3 years of upper extremity or orthopedic experience
• Strong knowledge of post-surgical protocols and hand therapy techniques
• Advanced manual therapy skills for the upper extremity
• Custom splinting and orthotic fabrication expertise
• Strong clinical decision-making, attention to detail, and documentation accuracy
• Excellent communication and patient-education abilities
