Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute (IBJI) in Gurnee, IL is seeking a Full-Time Occupational Therapist with Hand Therapy (CHT) specialization to provide orthopedic care to upper-extremity patients. Join a collaborative team of physicians, therapists, and staff in a multi-location orthopedic practice.

We offer strong base salary, quarterly bonuses up to $11,500, sign-on bonus, profit sharing, and a $2,000/year CE stipend, with mentoring to ramp to full caseload.

Qualifications

• Out-Patient Hand Therapy experience.
• Experience with custom orthotics/splinting.
• Ability to multitask and be a team player.
• Interest in working with all types of patients including athletes.
• Open and excited to learn new skills and grow as clinician.
• Be able to collaborate and build relationships with onsite and offsite physicians.
• Involvement in professional development and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial evaluations and establishes treatment plans with functional goals.
• Fabricates custom or dispenses non-custom upper extremity orthotics to support healing and ROM.
• Completes written documentation (Initial Evaluation, Progress Summary, Discharge Summary) to physicians.
• Upgrades treatment goals and determines discharge timing.
• Communicates regularly with physicians and team to maximize client outcomes.
• Assists with supervision of Rehabilitation Technicians.
• Maintains and orders OT supplies and equipment.
• Has opportunity to supervise OT students or shadowing opportunities.
• Participates in ongoing continuing education opportunities.
• Develops relationships with physicians to promote IBJI services and treatment philosophy.
