Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate, plan and direct treatment to restore independence in daily living skills, working with patients and families.

This role requires a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, an active Illinois license, CPR/BLS certification, and a commitment to ongoing professional development while collaborating with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois License to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
• CPR or BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, assesses, and plans treatment including orienting patient and significant others to the OT process.
• Evaluates patient impairments and functional status to set goals with patient and family.
• Facilitates patient participation and collaborates with the team to achieve outcomes.
• Identifies factors affecting function to establish goals with patient and family.
• Implements treatment plans using OT approaches and positioning techniques.
• Participates in patient care conferences to coordinate treatment and educate patient/family.
• May supervise affiliated OT students and teach courses.
• Performs other duties in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
