Benchmark Electronics is seeking a production technician to hand solder and/or operate solder machines, assembling electronic boards with attention to detail in a safety-conscious environment.

The role emphasizes reading papers and drawings, verifying parts, and maintaining quality while following documented procedures and routings. Rochester, MN-based, full-time shift with a safety-focused culture and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.
• Ability to read and understand schematic drawings and manufacturing instructions.
• Successful completion of General Production Procedures Training and hand solder certification.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prints Dispatch List and prioritizes products based on production guidelines.
• Obtains paperwork and drawings for each job, verifying the effective date.
• Obtains and verifies parts from kits for the current job.
• Hand solders components on boards per instructions and inspects solder connections.
• Performs solder potting and disposes of contaminated materials per procedure.
• Routes completed boards to the next facility per manufacturing order.
• Performs wire add operations when required.
• Scans completed boards into the PFS system and records operations.
• Uses routings and process instructions under minimal supervision.
• Maintains clean work area and follows safety and ESD practices.
• Performs data entry for labor and WIP tracking; reports throughput to Team Leader.
• Performs quality work to meet customer satisfaction.
