Job summary

Tom James Company, Brown & Church at Pilot Mountain, NC, is seeking a Hand Seamstress to support our hand sew operations. The ideal candidate will contribute to the excellence that meets customer and team goals and enjoy working in a production environment both independently and with others.

Responsibilities include following work orders precisely, maintaining quality of seams, selecting appropriate stitches and fabrics, and keeping work areas tidy.

Qualifications

• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Attention to detail and consistency.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and sit/stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of different stitches, fabrics, and quality standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

• Accurately follow work orders to meet customer / product specifications.
• Focus on precision first and then pace.
• Quality check work for neat seems and correct stitching.
• Ability to identify flaws/variations in different patterns and color identification.
• Must be able to handle materials such as cotton, silk, viscose, wool, nylon, etc.
• Work with team members to coordinate work flow and resolve issues
• Keep work area tidy

We are seeking a HandSeamstress team member to support our various hand sew operations. Ideal candidate will consistently contribute to the overall excellence that will meet or exceed customer and team objectives. This person should enjoy working in a production environment, independently, as well as working with other associates in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation to accomplish goals.
