Job summary

Flanigan’s is seeking a friendly host/hostess in our Florida location. You’ll greet guests, usher them to tables, manage the waiting list, and ensure the foyer stays tidy. You’ll set the tone with our signature Smile Talk and help guests with inquiries.

Requirements include English literacy and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You must pass Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications. We offer a five-day work week, paid vacations, health insurance, 401K, and staff meals.

Qualifications

• Must be able to greet guests warmly and communicate clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Must complete Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly smile and guide them to tables.
• Escort guests and manage the wait list efficiently.
• Keep the foyer and host station clean and organized.
• Answer phones and respond to guest inquiries or direct them to staff.
• Handle opening/closing duties and shift changes as assigned.

Overview

You’re the first smiling face our guests see every time they enter a Flanigan’s, and likely the last as they go on their merry way. You set the tone for the entire experience, greeting all of our friends and family in a warm and welcoming way. You help usher guests to their tables, manage the flow of seating, field inquiries, and greet people on the way out, just as nicely as on the way in. We’re always looking for the most friendly, hospitable people to join the team.

Responsibilities

• Displays and maintains a cheerful and courteous temperament, as well as displays a neat and clean professional image
• Greets guests with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Engages guests in Flanigan’s "Smile Talk" while escorting them to table in a timely manner
• Efficiently manages the Wait List for seating
• Communicates guest’s questions or concerns to Manager on duty
• Keeps foyer, host/hostess station, wait area clean and free of debris, restocks and cleans menus
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guest
• Answers telephone within 4 rings, and answers guests’ questions, and/or directs guests to proper staff member
• Conclude guests’ visit with Flanigan’s "Smile Talk"
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework

Qualifications

• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
