Job summary

Position Summary

Reporting to the Lifeline Program Manager, the Manager/Supervisor oversees the team that coordinates physician‑to‑physician communications, serves as a key resource for referring physicians, and manages staff schedules to maintain seamless operations.

Shift

Full‑time position, 40 hours per week, rotating shift. Holiday and weekend work required.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.

Knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of The Johns Hopkins Enterprise and the ability to retrieve information to facilitate physician communications.
  • Working knowledge of JHMI policies and procedures.
Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with peers, manage customer complaints, and handle high‑stress situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work in a fast‑paced environment, and resolve problems analytically.
  • Experience in a service‑related healthcare occupation.
Work Experience
  • Five years as a Physician Referral Coordinator or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with budget management, maintenance of office equipment, and the HAL computer database system.
  • Familiarity with the ACD (Automatic Call Distributor) and strong medical terminology.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • Serve as a resource for staff and work independently with little oversight.
  • Participate in the interview process, complete evaluations, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Manage attendance, discipline, and performance, and prepare payroll.
  • Train new personnel and orient team members to expedited functions.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Hopkins Access Line, ensuring quality control with calls and documentation.
  • Develop and coach staff for improved performance.
Salary Range

Minimum $21.53 per hour – maximum $37.68 per hour. Compensation commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
