Job summary

CSL Behring seeks a Director of Search & Evaluation to lead strategic sourcing and evaluation of external innovation in Haematology, embedded within the Therapeutic Area Leadership Team. This hybrid role requires onsite work 3 days a week at one of our R&D hubs, including the Waltham site in the US.

You will build a robust preclinical to Phase 1 asset pipeline, shape early partnering strategies, and drive transactions with Business Development across cross-functional teams and regional leads.

Qualifications

• Significant tenure in biopharma with external innovation experience.
• Experience in search & evaluation or business development.
• Deep scientific expertise in Haematology.
• Proven track record of leading due diligence and closing early-stage deals.
• Strong network within biotech, academia, and pharma BD organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead Early S&E within the TALT to align external priorities with portfolio planning.
• Own proactive sourcing and scouting for preclinical and Phase 1 assets.
• Co-lead NPO assessments with cross-functional teams to decide on due diligence and deals.
• Develop early partnering strategies and competitive asset positioning.
• Drive due diligence across scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial assessments.
• Partner with BD and regional leads to advance opportunities to deal close.
