Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks a dedicated cook to prepare and cook meals in a high-volume kitchen at the VFW San Joaquin Hall. You will follow daily menus, maintain cleanliness, adhere to uniform and safety standards, and support the Food Service Manager with daily tasks.

You will also assist in shopping, data entry for USDA and donation reporting, and provide translation support as needed, contributing to efficient meal service and program operations.

Qualifications

• HACCP Food Handling Certification required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights.
• Ability to follow daily kitchen procedures and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook up to 3 meals per day.
• Maintain clean and sanitized workstation.
• Adhere to uniform requirements and food-service cleanliness.
• Clean and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
• Respond to daily assignments from Food Service Manager/Head Chef.
• Shop for food items as directed.
• Assist in drought response efforts as needed.
• Assist in translation as needed.
• Data entry for Well Sky, USDA reporting and donation reporting.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
