Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a skilled cook to assist in a high-volume institutional kitchen. You will prepare and cook meals under the Center Director/Program Chef and maintain clean, sanitized workspaces. The role includes food ordering, basic reporting duties, and occasional translation support.

Certification in HACCP is required, and physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs are expected. This is an on-site, hands-on kitchen position in a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• HACCP Food Handling Certification required.
• Able to work in a high-volume institutional kitchen.
• Ability to perform physically demanding kitchen tasks (lift up to 25 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook each days menu for up to 3 meals per day.
• Responsible for keeping work station clean and sanitized.
• Adhere to uniform requirements and food service cleanliness.
• Responsible for cleaning and maintaining all kitchen tools and equipment.
• Respond to daily assignments for the Food Service Manager/Head Chef.
• Shop for food items as directed and needed.
• Assist in drought response efforts as needed.
• Assist in translation as needed.
• Data entry for Well Sky, USDA reporting and Donation Reporting.
• All other duties as assigned.
