Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Spokane is seeking a Construction Project Support Assistant to help coordinators with administrative tasks related to land development, site planning, and house plan coordination. This hands-on role offers learning opportunities in residential construction project management and real-world community impact.

You will organize tools and documents, coordinate volunteers, assist with on-site tasks, maintain reports and timecards, and help share stories of the AmeriCorps service

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office tech required.
  • Experience in customer service and/or construction support preferred.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Construction Project Coordinator with daily administrative and on-site tasks.
  • Organize tools, materials, and documents for construction workdays.
  • Assist in coordinating volunteer crews and ensuring resources for safe, efficient work.
  • Participate in site preparation and cleanup as needed.
  • Help with scheduling and communication with volunteers and community partners.
  • Represent Habitat on-site and in the community.
  • Attend Spokane Service Team trainings and AmeriCorps national days of service.
  • Maintain accurate reports and timecards.
  • Document and share stories, photos, and videos to promote participation.

As a Construction Project Support Assistant with Habitat for Humanity–Spokane, you’ll play a key role in supporting our Construction Project Coordinators through a variety of administrative tasks related to land development, site planning, and house plan coordination. While prior experience in site development is a plus, this position offers a hands‑on opportunity to learn the fundamentals of residential construction project management. You’ll gain valuable experience in site development processes, enhance your organizational and communication skills, and contribute directly to the successful delivery of safe, affordable homes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about service, interested in construction or project coordination, and eager to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Who You Are
  • Previous experience in customer service and/or construction support (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general office technology.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Professional appearance, demeanor, and ability to represent Habitat with kindness and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a culture of respect and belonging for individuals of all identities and backgrounds.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in both field and office environments.
  • Ability to work in the field as well as office setting.

  • Attend all Spokane Service Team trainings and AmeriCorps national days of service.
  • Maintain accurate and timely reports and timecards.
  • Document and share stories, photos, and videos highlighting the AmeriCorps service project’s activities and impact to promote participation in project‑related events.
