Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Spokane is seeking a Construction Crew Member to support all phases of the homebuilding process, working closely with the Construction Supervisor and volunteer teams.

You will contribute to safe, affordable home construction while developing teamwork, communication, and project coordination skills. This role emphasizes reliability, safety, and collaboration within our mission-driven program.

Qualifications

• Previous trade or construction experience (preferred).
• Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills — kind, patient, and able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on construction tasks for new builds and rehabs (demolition, framing, roofing, etc.).
• Set up and clean up project sites; manage materials and tools.
• Maintain accurate site logs, timecards, and documentation.
• Lead small groups of volunteers, ensuring safety and positive engagement.
• Provide orientations and safety talks for volunteers and families.
• Collaborate with staff to identify and engage skilled volunteers.
• Promote and model safe work practices in alignment with Habitat safety
• Participate in training and service events with the Spokane Service Team.
