Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Spokane is seeking a Construction Crew Member to support hands-on homebuilding with volunteers under the Construction Supervisor. You’ll assist with demolition, framing, roofing, and site operations, while ensuring safety and quality on each project.

Required are physical stamina, reliable teamwork, and the ability to lead small volunteer groups; the role includes coordinating materials, tools, and safety briefings for diverse teams. Valid schedule Wed–Sat.

Qualifications

  • Previous trade or construction experience (preferred).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills — kind, patient, and able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on construction tasks for new builds and rehabs (demolition, framing, roofing, etc.).
  • Set up and clean up project sites; manage materials and tools.
  • Maintain accurate site logs, timecards, and documentation.
  • Lead small groups of volunteers, ensuring safety and positive engagement.
  • Provide orientations and safety talks for volunteers and families.

As a Construction Crew Member, you’ll work closely with the Construction Supervisor and volunteer teams to support all phases of the homebuilding process. You’ll contribute directly to Habitat for Humanity–Spokane’s mission by helping construct safe, affordable homes for families across Spokane County.   • Collaborate with staff to identify and engage skilled volunteers.
  • Promote and model safe work practices in alignment with Habitat safety
  • Participate in training and service events with the Spokane Service Team.
