Job summary

HFO Chicago, representing Haas across Northern Illinois and Indiana, seeks a field service technician to install, commission, and repair Haas CNC machines at customer facilities. Travel is required; vehicle and fuel are provided.

You will document service records and deliver on-site operator training, driving preventive maintenance and uptime for manufacturers. The role offers opportunities to deepen Haas knowledge, with onboarding that includes CNC repair coursework and Haas factory

Qualifications

  • CNC background is desirable and reading schematics is required.
  • Ability to interpret electrical & mechanical drawings and specs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostics skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, maintain, and repair Haas CNC machines at customer facilities.
  • Travel to customer sites; vehicle and fuel provided.
  • Document service records and status updates for customers and the office.
  • Deliver after-sales technical support and on-site operator training; champion preventive maintenance.
  • Earn Haas factory certification within the first year.

You isolate the issue with a Fluke meter, reference Haas documentation, replace the failing component, validate geometry, document the job for the customer and office, and finish by training operators on PM best practices. Next stop: commissioning a 5-axis UMC and tuning a rotary table.
