Bay Harbor Yacht Club in Petoskey, MI seeks a full-time bartender with 1–2 years in food and beverage, strong mixology skills and TIPS certification. Candidates should be comfortable with POS systems, wine pairings, and delivering exceptional member and guest service in indoor and outdoor environments.

BHYC offers comprehensive training, housing options, and benefits for seasonal staff. This position emphasizes hospitality, accuracy, and teamwork in a dynamic club setting near the bay.

Competenze

• 1-2 years experience in food and beverage preferred; minimum 3 months required
• TIPS certification is required
• Knowledge of cocktails, glassware and garnishes; excellent service
• POS system experience and wine knowledge preferred
• High school diploma preferred; strong hospitality skills
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and work weekends/evenings/holidays

Mansioni

• Follows setup/tear down procedures and stocks bar before/during/after shifts
• Mixes, prepares and serves drinks per BHYC standards and recipes
• Serves food/beverages at the bar and via POS per servers' orders
• Reports complaints to manager and provides immediate solutions

Join Bay Harbor Yacht Club as a Bartender, where you'll craft exceptional cocktails and provide top-notch service to our esteemed members and guests. This position requires expertise in mixology, including knowledge of food and wine pairings, as well as proficiency in operating POS systems. If you have 1-2 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, along with TIPS certification and a passion for delivering outstanding hospitality, we invite you to apply. We are looking for full-time Bartenders with an estimated visa start date of April 1st, 2027 and a visa end date of October 31st, 2027.

Job Duties:

• Follows set up/tear down procedures including stocking supplies before/during/after each shift.
• Mixes, prepares and serves drinks to members and guests according to recipe and BHYC standards
• Serves food and beverages to members and guests at the bar and through POS system as ordered by servers.
• Reports any complaints to manager on duty, while also acting accordingly to provide an immediate solution.
• Maintains a clean bar and equipment including ice cream machine.
• Serves food/beverage to members and guests at high-top tables when server is not present, or when given that section.
• Answers club phone if not answered within three rings and follows proper BHYC phone standards.
• Alerts manager on duty of any bottle of wine that needs to be retrieved/served from main clubhouse.
• May assist in hosting/seating members if manager on duty not immediately present.
• Collects payments for drinks served.
• Maintains records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times.
• Cleans and locks the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures.
• Ensures that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent any health or safety hazards from occurring and takes precautions against possible spoilage.
• Continually practices beverage and revenue control procedures.
• Assures that state and local laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are followed.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience in food and beverage field or related areas preferred, minimum of 3 months experience is required
• POS system experience and knowledge preferred
• Alcohol TIPS certified
• High School Diploma preferred
• Must be able to life up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to work some weekends, evenings and/or holidays

• Skilled at slowing and refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary.
• Ability to work large or small events with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize work activities
• Strong interpersonal skills required
• Basic safety and sanitation requirements.

• Knowledge of wines and spirits.
