Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an IMMIGRATION ADVISOR H-1B to support international employees with H-1B status issues and USCIS petitions. You will collect documents, liaise with departments, and draft support letters for visa appointments.

Remote/hybrid eligibility is noted, with day shifts and regular hours. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in International Studies, Pre-Law, Business or related field and two years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in International Studies, Pre-Law, Business or a related field.
• Two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.

Responsibilities

• Foster a welcoming and supportive environment for international employees by providing information and support on H-1B immigration status issues.
• Collect documents and assemble petitions for H-1B work authorization from USCIS.
• To liaise with department administrators and other UAB administrative partners to obtain checks and signatures.
• Draft travel and visa appointment support letters for H-1B beneficiaries.
• Advise international employees on immigration compliance and university policy.
