Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring a Registered Nurse on the Day Shift in Worcester, MA. The role follows a 40-hour work week with hours from 7:30 to 5:30, Monday through Friday.

This position requires Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required in specialty areas. Responsibilities include patient assessment, discharge planning, medication administration, and collaboration with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is required for every RN.
• ACLS required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months.
• PALS required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months.
• NRP Advanced Provider required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months.
• BSN highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment/reassessment per procedure.
• Develops and coordinates individual care plan including discharge planning.
• Directs and evaluates nursing care within the clinical setting.
• Documents patient care per procedure.
• Administers medications and assists with procedures as required.
• Participates in Nursing Governance activities and quality improvement.
