Job summary

The Ocean Community YMCA in Westerly, RI is seeking a Gymnastics Coordinator to lead and grow our recreational and competitive programs, blending hands-on coaching with program leadership, staff development, safety, and family engagement—creating a positive environment where kids build skills and confidence.

You will coach the gymnastics team, recruit and mentor staff, coordinate meets and events, and foster active participation while partnering with families and community partners.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of gymnastics experience.
• Gymnastics safety certification required within 6 months.
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programming.
• Coach and support the competitive Gymnastics Team.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor gymnastics staff.
• Develop engaging programs that grow participation and retention.
• Coordinate meets, competitions, and special events.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming gymnastics environment.
• Build strong relationships with athletes, families, and community partners.
