Job summary

The Ocean Community YMCA in Westerly, RI is seeking a Gymnastics Coordinator to lead and grow our recreational and competitive gymnastics programs. This role blends hands-on coaching with program leadership, staff development, safety, and family engagement to create a positive environment where youth build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of gymnastics.

Responsibilities include coaching our competitive team, coordinating meets and events, recruiting and mentoring staff, and developing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of gymnastics experience.
• Working knowledge of gymnastics skills and spotting techniques for multiple levels.
• Gymnastics safety certification required within 6 months of employment.
• CPR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications required.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to create a positive, safe environment for athletes, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality recreational and competitive gymnastics programming.
• Coach and support the Gymnastics Team.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor gymnastics staff.
• Develop engaging programs that grow participation and retention.
• Coordinate meets, competitions, and special events.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming gymnastics environment.
• Build strong relationships with athletes, families, and community partners.
