Job summary

Oswegoland Park District’s Boulder Point Facility in Montgomery, IL seeks a year-round gymnastics program facilitator to organize and implement day-to-day activities. The role emphasizes coaching and delivering quality youth programming with attention to safety and customer service.

The position requires evenings and weekends, a foundation in gymnastics, strong communication, and the ability to work with staff and parents. CPR/AED/First Aid/DCFS certifications are required or must be obtained.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Previous gymnastics experience preferred, as a coach or gymnast.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Services, Recreation or pursuing a related degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach gymnastics program.
• Assist in planning and executing open gyms and special events.
• Assist in marketing and promoting the gymnastics program.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by coordinator or supervisor.

Job description

JOB OVERVIEW

This year round position is responsible for the organization and implementation of day-to-day activities in the gymnastics program at our Boulder Point Facility located in Montgomery, IL.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING

• Age 18 years and older.
• Previous gymnastics experience preferred, either as a coach or a gymnast.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in education, youth services, recreation or working toward a degree in these areas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Comprehension of gymnastics skills and techniques.
• An understanding of the principles of customer service.
• Ability to organize and lead a variety of gymnastics programs.
• Ability to take instruction from coordinators, upper level coach staff and implement changes or requests.
• Ability to tactfully discuss student’s behavior, both positive and negative, with the student and parents.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR, AED, First Aid, and DCFS Certifications.
• Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
