Sylvania in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Community Education Youth Gymnastics Manager to lead coaches, plan sessions, and ensure a safe, high‑quality program for youth gymnasts.

You will oversee facility needs, craft staff schedules, monitor enrollments, and coordinate coach development while maintaining curriculum progressions and strong communication with families and school partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of gymnastics coaching experience across multiple events and skill levels.
• Knowledge of tumbling and apparatus (bars, beam, vault, floor) with solid spotting skills and safety awareness.
• Experience supervising staff and managing class schedules is preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally with children, parents, and staff.
• Current CPR/AED (Adult & Child) and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION YOUTH GYMNASTICS MANAGER

Gymnastics Manager Job Description:

• Provide leadership and supervision for all youth gymnastics coaches, fostering a positive, professional, and accountable coaching environment.
• Represent Community Education in all interactions with participants, parents, spectators, and staff, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and addressing concerns promptly and appropriately.
• Oversee program operations and facility needs, including maintaining attendance records, completing and filing incident reports, monitoring safety and security concerns, and ensuring adequate first aid supplies, equipment, and overall facility safety.
• Develop and plan each 6–8 week session schedule (class offerings, dates, times, and staffing) in collaboration with the Assistant Community Education Director/Gymnastics Coordinator.
• Build and manage coach schedules, including creating the initial schedule and ensuring all classes are appropriately staffed by securing substitutes or making timely decisions to cancel or reschedule when necessary; communicate finalized plans and updates to the Assistant Director/Gymnastics Coordinator.
• Ensure program quality and consistency by maintaining curriculum and skill progressions for each class level.
• Monitor class enrollments and move-ups, including anticipating future staffing and class needs as gymnasts progress between levels; provide recommendations for program adjustments.
• Help to recruit, interview, train, and onboard coaching staff in partnership with Community Education leadership.
• Observe coaching staff on a regular basis (minimum of once per session), providing clear, constructive feedback aligned with Gymnastics Program Expectations and district policies, and holding staff accountable to those expectations.
• Oversee and coach the Midwest Amateur Gymnastics Association (MAGA) Competitive Program, ensuring compliance with all league requirements and support athlete development.
• Coach various class levels, camps, and specialty clinics as needed.
• Communicate effectively with youth and high school coaching staff and Community Education personnel to maintain a collaborative and professional program environment.
• Coordinate and support ongoing coach development, including organizing and leading at least one annual coaches meeting or training.
• Monitor equipment needs and provide recommendations for maintenance, repair, and replacement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching gymnastics, including instruction across multiple events and skill levels.
• Demonstrated knowledge of tumbling and apparatus (bars, beam, vault, floor), including strong spotting skills and safe use of gymnastics equipment.
• Experience teaching and progressing youth athletes in a structured, leveled gymnastics program.
• Prior experience supervising staff and/or managing class schedules strongly preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with children, parents, and staff.
• Strong understanding of safety practices, with the ability to monitor participant activity, enforce rules, and respond appropriately to incidents.
• Ability to remain alert and respond quickly in emergency situations, including visual and auditory awareness of surroundings.
• Physical ability to demonstrate skills, train staff, actively coach, and engage in gymnastics activities as required.
• Current CPR/AED (Adult & Child) and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.

$25.58/hr depending on qualifications - approximately 12-25 hrs per week depending on registrations/classes coached.
