Job summary

Planet Fitness is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily gym operations, staff supervision, scheduling and training at our Amarillo, TX location. You will drive member service excellence, uphold brand standards and contribute to strategic growth.

The AGM will coordinate administrative tasks, track KPI performance and assist with budgeting, while ensuring a welcoming, clean and well-maintained club for members and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Gym work experience and fitness background preferred.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Good understanding of PC business applications (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Promote Planet Fitness philosophy, mission and vision.
• Oversee gym operation according to policies.
• Complete administrative tasks and reports.
• Supervise staff across front desk, service, maintenance and training.
• Schedule staff to ensure coverage.
• Train new employees and contribute to succession planning.
• Prepare annual employee evaluations.
• Ensure member service and club cleanliness.
• Authorize expenditures and manage budgets.
• Interview and select candidates.
• Maintain attendance and payroll records.
• Coordinate with payroll service for hours worked.
• Lead marketing efforts and place advertisements.
• Manage bank deposits and admin forms/reports.
• Greet potential members and provide tours.
• Resolve member issues and inquiries.
• Engage in competitive shopping to improve performance.
• Ensure opening/closing times are met.
• Pitch in to assist with various tasks as needed.
