Gold’s Gym in the United States is seeking a General Manager to oversee gym operations, sales processes, and a high-performing staff. You will drive customer service excellence, manage budgets, and ensure the facility operates at peak performance.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a track record in sales-driven management. Expect an emphasis on health, sanitation, and customer experience across a busy fitness environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with five years professional experience; college degree preferred.
• Fitness industry experience preferred but not required.
• Be promotionally-oriented and able to direct sales through outreach programs.
• Strong customer service orientation with proven results.
• Understanding of performance metrics including P&L, revenue, budgeting, inventory, payroll, cost controls and facilities maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with open, participative leadership and drive for excellence.
• Strong work ethic, integrity, and professional demeanor.
• 2 years of management experience preferred with an associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Properly manage and maintain gym operational budget.
• Oversee the sales process and systems.
• Manage, monitor, and evaluate the performance of all gym-related managers.
• Monitor the hiring, training and scheduling of all gym level staff.
• Train and mentor subordinates.
• Delegate, monitor and evaluate sales team responsibilities through the Sales Manager.
• Manage disciplinary actions involving all gym level employees.
• Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service in a high volume retail environment.
• Make effective decisions regarding customer service issues.
• Plan and promote monthly gym events with support from corporate marketing.
• Ensure facility is clean and operationally sound.
