Planet Fitness in Barberton, OH is seeking a Fitness Ambassador. This entry-level position is perfect for someone who loves people, active settings, and helping members feel welcome. You are the heartbeat of the club, greeting everyone and keeping the energy high.

No prior fitness background required; we provide training and growth opportunities. You’ll assist with check-ins, promote programs, and help create a clean, safe, and upbeat environment for all members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 18+ years old.
• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or fitness preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
• Passion for fitness and helping others; willingness to learn basic training techniques (certification not required but encouraged).
• Must complete fitness training certification (NCSF) and manufacturer specific equipment training within 90 days of hire.
• Must be able to perform and demonstrate a wide range of exercises, including strength, cardio, and flexibility movements.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (4–8 hours per shift).
• Capability to lift, move, and safely adjust fitness equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet members with enthusiasm and make everyone feel welcome.
• Be a visible, approachable presence on the fitness floor.
• Assist with check-ins, questions, and member needs.
• Promote programs, events, and club offerings.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and motivating environment.
• Build relationships — know names, celebrate wins, and encourage progress.
