Job summary

USDM Life Sciences in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a Senior IT/Security Engineer to lead end-to-end IT and GxP validation projects in a regulated environment. You will manage identity, endpoints, and cloud/SaaS with validation documentation and cross-functional communication.

Role requires onsite work in Palo Alto, CA, 40 hours per week, and collaboration across Quality, R&D, Clinical, Finance, and HR. You will deliver security configurations for Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and Google Workspace, and

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT infrastructure and/or information security engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Define scope and success criteria for IT and security projects, build delivery plans, manage risks, and drive on-time completion.
• Maintain a transparent project portfolio in Jira/Confluence with owners, dates, and status.
• Coordinate vendors and MSP/MSSP partners and monitor against statements of work.
• Create reusable project artifacts such as requirements, designs, test evidence, runbooks, and handoff documentation.
• Implement identity and access control using Okta or Microsoft Entra ID, including SSO/MFA, SCIM provisioning, conditional access, and access reviews.
• Deploy and support endpoint management and security for macOS and Windows (MDM enrollment, EDR, hardening baselines, patch/vulnerability remediation).
• Deliver cloud and SaaS workstreams across Microsoft 365, Azure/AWS, and Google Workspace, including DLP and information protection, backup, and integrations.
• Support network and site infrastructure projects across Palo Alto, on-site.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell and Python and document the solutions.
• Triage security alerts, execute incident response, coordinate with MSSP, and drive remediation progress.
• Complete vendor security assessments and respond to customer/security questionnaires.
• Perform GxP validation activities for cloud/SaaS per 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11; maintain validation docs.
