Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Gutter Coil 1st shift Production Associate in Sidney, OH. This full-time position runs 1st shift from 6am to 2pm, with base pay of $21.50 per hour and weekly pay. Benefits start on day 1, with comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage and a 401(k) plan.

You will read SOPs, operate production equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure safety and waste management standards are met. Strong attendance and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of machine operator experience.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Must be a team player with good attendance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Safety and quality conscious with strong communication.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Able to stand, bend, lift and move frequently.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow SOPs for each task; deviations require supervisor approval.
• Take corrective action to eliminate hazards and downtime.
• Complete production records, safety checks and quality checks.
• Operate equipment to produce product as specified.
• Perform quality checks at required intervals.
• Manage wastes including recycling and hazardous waste segregation.
• Minimize waste generation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read, understand, and follow the steps outlined in SOPs for each task being performed: deviations from established procedures are permitted only with supervisor approval
• Take prompt corrective action to eliminate safety hazards, minimize equipment downtime, reduce scrap generation, and correct deviations from quality standards
• Complete required documentation including production records, safety checklist, quality checks, labels, etc. in a complete, legible, and accurate manner
• Operate equipment to produce product in amounts as specified
• Perform established quality checks on material at required intervals to ensure all product specifications are being met
• Properly manage all wastes generated, including segregation of recyclable materials, and segregation of hazardous wastes by type
• Take steps to minimize the amount of waste generated

• Must have 2 years+Machine Operator experience
• Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
• Must be able to read a tape measure
• Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance
• Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player
• Must be able to work quickly with product and able to lift weight amount as indicated on job specific functional capacity evaluation
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to concentrate for sustained periods
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interact with people
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking
• Required personal protective equipment, tugger, overhead crane, carts, dollies and some hand tools
• Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
• Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Associate’s performance appraisal
