Job summary

iMerit Inc. is seeking a Data Annotation Specialist to annotate training data across text, audio transcripts, and images in strict accordance with project guidelines. You will generate accurate annotations and apply critical thinking when data is ambiguous, while responsibly handling PII and NSFW content.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma required.
• 1–2 years of annotation or linguistic data handling experience.
• Experience with data annotation tools and software platforms.
• Strong understanding of language nuances, including grammar, style, and cultural context.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing project directions and fast-paced work environments.
• Experience creating or annotating data for Large Language Model (LLM) training.
• Familiarity with annotation projects involving sensitive or nuanced content.
• Exposure to Generative AI technologies and principles.

Responsibilities

• Annotate high-quality training data across Text, Audio Transcripts and Images per guidelines.
• Generate accurate annotations per project requirements.
• Apply critical thinking and make decisions in ambiguous data scenarios.
• Handle PII data responsibly, including NSFW content when present.
• Identify and report annotation tool issues, bugs, or potential improvements.
• Collaborate with Language Leads, Project Managers, and technical teams to maintain quality.
