Job summary

Relativity Space is building the Terran R program and seeks engineers to advance integrated performance across vehicle and ground systems. You’ll work on simulations, analytics, and cross-disciplinary collaboration to drive programmatic improvements.

This role spans design data integration, trajectory optimization, and end-to-end ownership in a fast-moving startup environment. You will collaborate with propulsion, manufacturing, software, and avionics teams, developing and maintaining simulation

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field.
  • 1+ years of full-time work experience with strong problem-solving from first principles.
  • Direct experience on rocketry, space systems, or similarly complex hardware.
  • Proficiency in Python, Julia, MATLAB and setting up complex simulations.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and dependency management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate the latest design data into full simulations of customer missions.
  • Develop tooling to optimize launch trajectories and orbital paths across missions.
  • Lead design trade analyses for decisions about vehicle, trajectories, and ConOps.
  • Define and maintain high-level vehicle and trajectory design requirements for the design process.
  • Implement and improve software tooling across languages for simulations and analyses.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional collaboration with Vehicle Engineering teams.
