Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is building rockets with the Terran R program. This role sits in the Integrated Performance team, aligning vehicle design, trajectory analysis, and ground systems to deliver reliable missions.

You will collaborate with design teams, develop tools for mission simulations, and own parts of the development process from concept to post‑Flight data review in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, CS, Physics, or related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant full-time work experience with problem solving from first principles.
  • Direct experience on rocketry, space systems, or complex hardware.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, Julia, MATLAB and setting up complex simulations.
  • End-to-end ownership and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate design data into full simulations of customer missions.
  • Develop and leverage tooling to optimize launch and orbital trajectories across missions.
  • Lead interdisciplinary design trade analyses to inform vehicle, trajectories, and ConOps decisions.
  • Define and maintain high-level vehicle and trajectory design requirements.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve software tooling across languages and utilities.
  • Establish and lead cross-functional collaboration with Vehicle Engineering teams.
