Description
Northrop Grumman is looking for an Engineer Guidance Navigation Control 3 or 4 to support our Actuator Simulation and Modeling Group. As a member of the Actuators group you ll get to perform trade studies on actuator systems, create performance specifications for actuator systems, and create actuator system models. This position will serve on-site at Chandler, Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Modeling and Simulation of actuation systems for various launch vehicles, target vehicles, and business development programs.
- Work under general direction of Flight Sciences Functional Manager, Functional Lead and various Program engineers.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, Mechanical Electrical, and Systems to determine best means to achieve objectives.
- Design and analysis of single loop and multi-loop PID control systems, including electromechanical and electro-hydraulic actuation systems.
- Create new and maintain existing linear and nonlinear math models of actuations systems, in both MATLAB and C++ forms.
- Evaluation of math model simulation output versus actual test data. Determine source of discrepancies and update models.
- Plan and conduct actuator systems engineering work that includes evaluation of new systems, and/or adaptation and modification of existing systems.
- Develop performance requirements for actuation system specifications.
- Review actuation system test data. Where necessary, identify processing issues and implement corrections.
- Provide anomaly investigation support for production and fielded actuation systems.
- Perform trade studies for new actuation system applications.
- Generate and revise relevant documentation summarizing work performed.
- Conduct kinematic analysis and mathematical modeling of 3-bar and 4-bar systems.
