Job summary

Brockton High School is seeking a Guidance Counselor for the Credit Recovery & Enrichment Program to support students through literacy, academic enrichment, and credit recovery, including MCAS practice and progress monitoring.

The role focuses on individualized support for identified students on Saturdays, collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure credits toward graduation; involvement with ASPIRE and Edison Evening Academy to help students earn credits for graduation.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Teaching license is required.
• Experience working with high school students.
• Experience with IEPs or 504s and multilingual learners.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with course instructors and supervisors to support students in each content curricula.
• Communicate regularly with families on progress and concerns.
• Work to re-engage students needing support.
• Maintain attendance and course data, as well as detailed communication logs.

4:00 – 7:00pm Mondays - Thursdays

8:30 – 11:30am on Saturdays

Job Description

Counselors in the Brockton High School Credit Recovery & Enrichment Program will provide support to Brockton High School students who need additional literacy support, compensatory services, academic enrichment, MCAS practice, or recovery of credits for promotion or graduation. Counselors will provide individualized support to identified students on their caseload in the BHS Saturday School Program, and will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to support students. Counselors will also support our students from the ASPIRE and Edison Evening Academy to ensure they are earning credits toward graduation.
