Position Purpose and Summary
The Guest Services Representative ("GSR") position must demonstrate and promote a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests. The role involves assisting guests at all times, answering phones, and managing check-ins and check-outs according to company guidelines. The GSR also completes daily front office paperwork and ensures safety and security procedures are followed for all associates and guests.

Major / Key Job Duties

  1. Demonstrate and promote a 100% commitment to guest experience.
  2. Assist guests at all times; respond to requests diligently; resolve issues through the Make it Right process; treat all guests and associates with respect and kindness.
  3. Process reservations, registration, payments, and departures per guidelines.
  4. Handle collection efforts for in-house balances; manage cash, check, credit card, and city ledger accounts.
  5. Set up, maintain, and takedown breakfast areas as required; keep the work area organized and clean.
  6. Sell ESA's value to inquiries and convert them into reservations and occupied rooms.
  7. Collect guest information, probe for sales leads, and identify opportunities.
  8. Conduct periodic property tours to meet brand standards.
  9. Provide accommodations for guest requests when possible.
  10. Report safety and security issues promptly.

Other Duties

  1. Maintain hotel cleanliness; assist with cleaning as needed.
  2. Cross-train in housekeeping and laundry to assist as needed.
  3. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Compensation

Pay ranges vary by location and experience. For example:

  • Colorado, Washington, California: $13.50 - $22.73 hourly
  • New York City (Whitestone): $32.88 hourly

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

  • Proficient in English communication.
  • Ability to operate property management systems.
  • Follow safety and operational instructions.
  • Complete reports and handle financial transactions accurately.
  • Apply good judgment and problem-solving skills.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Remain stationary, navigate the hotel, reach, handle objects, and detect sounds.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds; push/pull carts up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Travel within a reasonable area if needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, or 1-3 months related experience, or equivalent.
