Job summary

Windsor Hospitality in Walnut Creek is seeking a friendly Host/Cashier for weekend shifts. You will greet guests, manage dining room flow, handle payments, and ensure accurate transactions. This role combines people skills with attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.

As the first and last guest contact, you will provide courteous service, maintain accuracy, and support cooperative teamwork. Weekend availability is required, and the position offers a supportive environment with opportunities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required, or an equivalent level of education and experience.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking work environment.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Basic cash handling and math skills; experience with a cash register or POS system preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members in a friendly and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome all guests as they arrive in a friendly and professional manner.
• Compute or recompute bills, itemized lists, and tickets showing amounts due using a cash register or point-of-sale system.
• Make change, cash checks, and issue receipts to guests accurately.
• Record amounts received and prepare reports of transactions.
• Read and record totals shown on cash register tape and verify against cash on hand.
• Read, maintain, and make daily entries in the shift logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
• Maintain knowledge of the value and features of menu items and other offerings.
• Issue cash refunds or credit memorandums to guests for returned merchandise as authorized.
