Job summary

Guest Services at Mount Rainier National Park seeks a friendly cafeteria associate to provide excellent guest service, handle cash transactions, and assist with cooking and food preparation. This on-site role emphasizes sanitation, safety, and efficient service in a dynamic food operations environment.

The position requires basic education with a Food Safety certification and familiarity with POS systems. Benefits include sick pay, employee discounts, recreation programs, and housing/meal plans

Qualifications

• Partial High School education. High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Food Safety certification required.
• Strong sanitation habits including attention to detail.
• National Park experience preferred.
• Ability to learn and use food service POS system including computerized cash register and credit card terminal.
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests through positive and friendly interactions, answering questions, and completing sales on register.
• Complete sales in POS in an accurate, efficient and friendly manner.
• Cook short order items on a serving line and perform simple food preparation.
• Maintain sanitation of food and food service areas.
• Serve orders to guests quickly and efficiently.
• Clean counters, equipment, and general work area, including washing dishes.
• Replenish and inventory food items and supplies in a cafeteria serving line, food bar, and storeroom.
• Performs such other related duties as directed or required.
