Job summary

The Goodman Theatre in Chicago is seeking a part-time Guest Services Associate to operate the information desk at 170 N. Dearborn and assist guests at the Theater of the Mind venue at 333 North Randolph.

You will greet patrons in a professional manner, answer questions about services, accessibility, box office and the surrounding area, log deliveries, and support safety procedures. Evening and weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications

  • Customer service experience in a high-volume setting preferred.
  • Sophisticated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable and able to handle a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible schedule with evening and weekend availability.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move deliveries.

  • Welcome guests in a professional, friendly and engaging manner.
  • Identify and anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful solutions.
  • Answer inquiries about services, facilities, box office and local area.
  • Log and deliver packages, mail and messages accurately.
  • Follow safety policies and assist with emergency procedures as needed.
  • Open and close the facility as part of the shift.

Dearborn St. & 333 N LaSalle St., Chicago, IL 60601POSITION SUMMARY:The Guest Services Associate is an integral part of the Goodman’s front-of-house department at both the 170 N. Dearborn location as well as at the Theater of the Mind venue, located at 333 North Randolph. This position is responsible for operating the information desk at 170 N. Dearborn and providing customer service to all patrons and visitors at both locations. The Guest Services Associate greets and proactively anticipates the needs of guests and offers thoughtful solutions. This is a part-time position that requires regular evening and weekend hours.RESPONSIBILITIES:Welcome all guests in a professional, friendly and engaging mannerIdentify and anticipate guest needsRemain knowledgeable of all Goodman accessibility offerings.Answer guest inquiries about Goodman services, facilities, box office, and surrounding areaAccurately log and deliver packages, mail, and messagesFollow all security and safety policies and proceduresHave knowledge of emergency procedures and assist as neededComplete the opening & closing procedures of the facilityPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Customer service-related experience in a high-volume setting preferred.
