Job summary

HEI Hotels and Resorts is seeking a Security Officer to patrol the Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista area and safeguard guests and property. You will observe, report, and respond to safety concerns, assist guests with needs, and coordinate with supervisors during emergencies.

The role relies on strong communication, vigilance, and teamwork. The position requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 150 lbs, and flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers as a team.
• Thorough knowledge of the building layout and surrounding city areas.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit and perform essential duties for the shift.
• Hearing and visual ability to detect emergencies with/without accommodation.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 150 lbs and move goods as needed.
• Ability to climb stairs and work in extreme temperatures.
• Effective verbal and written communication; adapt to audiences.

Responsibilities

• Patrol interior and perimeter to observe and identify security or safety risks.
• Communicate via pager and two-way radio; respond to incidents.
• Maintain order and assist guests; address door lock issues.
• Coordinate responses to emergencies calmly and promptly.
• Enforce hotel policies and handle disruptions as needed.
• Monitor life safety systems and alarm panels; report anomalies.
• Answer security hotline calls and respond based on priority.
• Observe monitors and report alarms to supervisor on duty.
