Job summary

Opry Entertainment is seeking a Security Officer to serve as the front line of protection for guests, staff and property at our venues in Nashville. You will maintain a high-visibility, hospitality-first presence, monitor crowds, and assist guests to foster a safe and secure environment.

The role requires experience in assessing situations, de-escalating conflicts, and responding quickly, including emergencies. A pre-employment drug screen and relevant licenses are part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background in law enforcement or security with entertainment/hospitality venue and crowd control experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and nonverbal communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours with some physical stress.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and secure environment; deliver friendly, professional service and assist guests.
• Screen guests upon entry using metal detectors, weapon detection systems, and bag searches.
• Enforce policies (age, alcohol) and verify identifications; manage crowd flow and access to restricted areas.
• Protect property and assets through patrols, surveillance, and monitoring of facilities and parking areas.
• Provide escorts for artists, VIPs, and other high-profile individuals to ensure safety and privacy.
• Respond to emergencies (medical, fire, severe weather) per SOP; assist guests and coordinate with first responders.
• De-escalate volatile situations; escort unruly individuals from venues.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and report hazards or defective equipment.
