Job summary

Western States Lodging & Management is seeking a Guest Room Supervisor to lead the housekeeping department, oversee guest rooms, laundry, and public spaces, and manage staffing and budgets.

You will train staff, develop standards, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safety and brand compliance. Weekend and holiday availability may be required; a strong leadership background and proven cost-control skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of housekeeping experience preferred.
• 5+ years of housekeeping supervisory experience preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping management principles, procedures, cleaning techniques, chemicals, equipment, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the housekeeping department, including guest rooms, laundry, public spaces, staffing, scheduling, inventory, and daily operations.
• Recruit, train, coach, and develop housekeeping associates to build a knowledgeable and dependable team.
• Develop and implement training programs that strengthen associate performance and ensure compliance with brand, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Establish departmental goals, priorities, procedures, and performance expectations.
• Manage housekeeping budgets, monitor expenses, control costs, and optimize the use of labor, supplies, linens, and other resources.
• Analyze housekeeping processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
• Plan staffing levels and schedules based on occupancy, business forecasts, operational demands, and departmental budgets.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and coordinate the procurement of housekeeping supplies, linens, amenities, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ensure guest rooms and public spaces consistently meet company and brand cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations, health requirements, safety procedures, chemical‑handling standards, and proper PPE practices.
• Lead by example and provide hands‑on operational support when necessary to ensure the success of the department.
