Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Server for the Market Grille to deliver friendly, efficient service and ensure guests have a memorable dining experience.

You will take orders, serve meals and drinks, answer questions about the menu, and collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to meet guest needs. No formal education is required; 0–2 years in food service preferred. You must be able to stand throughout shifts and maintain hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and perform tasks accurately.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a warm smile and create a welcoming experience from seating.
• Present menus, answer questions, and make recommendations when asked.
• Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system for kitchen transmission.
• Serve food and beverages and assist with menu knowledge where applicable.
• Prepare drinks and chill wine as needed and check guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
• Verify guest IDs for alcohol service and maintain proper checks and reports.
