Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to be at the center of our busy grille. You’ll greet customers, take orders, serve fresh made-to-order items, and help ensure food quality and safety throughout your shift.

No education requirement; training provided. About six months of related experience preferred. You’ll work on a team, handle cash register transactions, restock, and keep a clean, safe workspace while delivering a friendly, smile-filled service.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; we will provide all the training you need to succeed.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the Market Grille counter.
• Take customer orders and answer the telephone promptly.
• Review daily orders, prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Handle food safely and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
• Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
• Support co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain strict adherence to personal hygiene, dress standards and store guidelines.
