Job summary

El Molino, a Mexico City-inspired bistro from Vandelay Companies, is seeking a Server Assistant to support our service team in delivering exceptional hospitality. You will help maintain clean dining areas, assist servers and bartenders, and ensure courses and beverages reach tables promptly.

You are 18+, fluent in English, able to work in a fast-paced setting, and reliable. This role offers a welcoming team, meal benefits, and opportunities for growth within Vandelay’s vibrant restaurant group.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic.
• Team-oriented with punctuality and reliability.
• Ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while being positive, respectful, professional and having a genuine attitude towards guests and colleagues.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• TABC Certification, as required
• Certified for food and alcohol service as is required by State and Local Agencies

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and service areas.
• Assist servers, bartenders and hosts when needed and understands food descriptions and ingredients of menu items.
• Run food from the kitchen to guest tables after ensuring each course is complete and accurate.
• Run beverages from the bar to guest tables and ensure beverages are always full.
• Remove used dishes and silverware from guest tables between courses and after guests leave the table.
• Communicate with server, bartenders and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service.
• Maintain cleanliness of all tables and chairs in assigned service area and resets vacated tables.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
