Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a food service cashier to handle cash and credit transactions for MedStar/Sodexo customers. You will assist in setup and serving from counters and steam tables, and help clean and sanitize equipment and workstations.

Responsibilities include operating the cash register, ensuring accurate PLU/UPC scanning, maintaining cash security, supporting the retail operation, stocking beverages and condiments, and helping with cleanup and closeout after meals, while following

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Past work experience not required; related experience preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills required.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Professional and ethical conduct expected.

Responsibilities

• Operates a cash register and processes cash/credit transactions.
• Ensures proper PLU and barcode scanning for sales items.
• Maintains cash security at all times.
• Assists in setup and serving of food from counters and steam tables.
• Prepares for service and cleans dining area after meals.
• Sets up beverage area and condiments; stocks service ware.
• Replenishes food and handles stock while on shift.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment.
• Interacts with customers and assists with food opening containers as needed.
• Follows company safety policies and reports incidents.
