Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in Ohio is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions quickly and accurately, and help them find products. You will work with the POS system and handle various tenders according to policy while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Strong customer service, effective communication, and basic math skills are required. Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk is a plus; adherence to safety and store guidelines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Cashier/Checker greets and assists customers
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently
• Operate POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC and loyalty offers
• Follow company policies to manage cash shortages/overages and prevent loss
• Adhere to guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons
• Stay current with ads and promotions
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures
• Assist and respond to customers with product questions across the store
• Maintain a welcoming environment and resolve issues professionally
• Follow all laws and company guidelines; work well under pressure
