Job summary

Virginia Beach Sports Center is hiring a part-time Housekeeper to maintain clean spaces, assist visitors, and support daily operations. The role emphasizes attention to detail and excellent customer service, with shifts including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

You will clean offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, and public areas, handle trash and recycling, and complete routine and special cleaning tasks under supervision, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping/janitorial/porter experience preferred.
• High school diploma/GED required or working toward it.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts.
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision.
• Capacity to take direction and follow through.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds; may sit/stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and provide information and wayfinding as needed
• Provide courteous and friendly first-in-class service to all guests
• Performs general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed
• Monitors for spills throughout the facility and clean as needed
• Cleans all floor surfaces and glass in facility
• Cleans and maintain all bathrooms (toilets, sinks, floors, restock supplies, etc.)
• Cleans all guest seating and lobby area
• Facility trash & recycling removal
• Complete special projects, daily assignments and other duties as directed by management
• Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests provide answers and directions as needed
• Complete non-routine cleaning according to specified job orders
• Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests
